The NASCAR great died Thursday after being hospitalized for a “sudden illness.”

The NASCAR driver last raced on May 15 in the NASCAR Truck Series at Dover Speedway, winning his record-breaking fifth Truck Series championship.
After news of his death broke, Busch’s postgame interview resurfaced online.
After the win at Dover, Busch was asked how many races he wanted to win in his career before stopping racing.
“You take what you can get, man,” Busch said. “You never know when the last one will be, so cherish them – trust me.”
The Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and NASCAR issued a joint statement Thursday saying Busch died after being hospitalized. No cause of death was given.
Just 11 days before his death, Busch radioed his team members toward the end of a Cup Series race at Watkins Glen, asking doctors to give him “a shot” after the race. According to TV broadcasts, Bush had been battling a sinus cold that was exacerbated by the intense gravity and elevation changes on New York’s roads.
Busch finished the race in eighth place.
Bush is survived by his wife, Samantha, and children, Brexton and Lennix.
The accidental death is just the latest tragedy to hit NASCAR. In December, former driver Greg Biffle, his wife, two children and three others Died in plane crash Located in Statesville, North Carolina.
