Aberdeen, Washington— Aberdeen police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy His body was found buried near a home in a housing estate in Aberdeen.
Family members and the Grays Harbor County Coroner’s Office identified the child’s name as Aiden Scott Bevins.
Aberdeen police confirmed the child’s body was found buried in a family member’s yard and said detectives were continuing to investigate the boy’s death.
Two family members contacted KING 5 after learning Aiden’s death was suspicious. The family said they contacted Aberdeen Police after becoming concerned. They said investigators later discovered the child’s body.
Family members described their grief when they spoke with KING 5.
Crystal Singletary, identified as the grandmother, questioned why authorities were not contacted sooner.
“Whatever the case was… even if he died of natural causes, why wouldn’t you call someone? What possible reasons would be logical for not reporting it,” Singletary said.
When KING 5 reported the story on Tuesday, an Aberdeen police officer arrived at the child’s home and family members said investigators found the child’s body and spoke with a family member.
KING 5 is blurring out the face of a man inside the home because police have not named him a suspect. The Grays Harbor coroner’s office said it is working to determine Aiden’s cause of death. No one is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
