10 “random” shootings in Texas leave many injured, two arrested, another on the run

Police said the suspect carried out as many as 10 attacks, injuring as many as four people.

Austin, Texas — Austin Texas Police Department Two people have been arrested and another person is being sought in connection with a series of random shootings across the city this weekend.

APD Chief Lisa Davis said the two suspects are allegedly connected to 10 shootings KVUE. One victim suffered serious injuries and three others suffered minor injuries.

At least two of the shootings occurred at the Austin Fire Department, with the majority of the shootings occurring in South Austin. Police said there was no specific motive for the shooting and it appeared to be random.

“At this time, the investigation is ongoing and APD asks our community to remain vigilant,” the department said in a news release Sunday.

The suspects are described as two teenage Hispanic males, one with medium wavy hair and the other with longer hair.

They were seen driving a black or dark blue 2012 Hyundai Sonata with a broken right passenger window, as shown in the photo below. Police said the suspect had been stealing and modifying vehicles. The suspect may also be driving a gold Hyundai sedan, silver Mazda four-door sedan or White Kia Optimapolice said. Davis urged residents not to leave their vehicles locked.

A shelter-in-place order was issued in the area of ​​Slaughter Lane, McKinney Falls Parkway, Ben White Boulevard and Escarpment Boulevard in South Austin, but it has now ended.

The Austin Fire Department said they are aware of two incidents of shots fired at firehouses — one late Saturday night and another early Sunday morning. No firefighters were injured in the shooting, and only minor damage was reported.

Austin Firefighters Association President David Girouard said the Austin Fire Department is fully staffed, operating normally and responding to calls throughout the city.
