Woman stabbed at South Seattle grocery store in stable condition

Police said the victim was stabbed in the back by an unknown man.

SEATTLE — A woman who was stabbed outside a South Seattle grocery store Friday night was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials with the Seattle Fire Department and Seattle Police Department received reports that a 37-year-old woman was stabbed near the left shoulder outside the QFC on Rainier Avenue South in Beacon Hill just after 11 p.m. Friday.

According to police, the victim was inside the store when she was approached by an unknown man. The woman said that as soon as she left the store, the man followed her and slashed her with a “butterfly knife”.

Police said the suspect left the scene on foot.

SFD treated her wounds and transported her to Harborview Medical Center.
