SUV rolls over on Interstate 5 near Arlington, injuring 2 people

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Northeast 236th Street. The crash caused an SUV to overturn and the investigation is ongoing.

ARLINGTON, Wash. — Two people were injured when an SUV overturned in a three-vehicle crash Friday night near the 236th Street Northeast on-ramp to Interstate 5.

According to the incident report, two vehicles were traveling on the northbound entrance ramp to Northeast 236th Street when one of the vehicles struck the other. The second vehicle then collided with a third vehicle traveling northbound in the right lane of Interstate 5.

After the collision, the first vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder of the on-ramp. The second vehicle overturned and came to rest on the right shoulder of the on-ramp. A third vehicle was parked on the right shoulder of northbound Interstate 5.

The driver and a passenger of the overturned SUV were injured and taken to Skagit Valley Hospital. Investigators said the passengers were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
