Washington – More than 150,000 electric kettles are being repaired recall There have been reports of the handle detaching from the device, causing hot water to escape and burn the user.
this consumer product safety commission A recall of ZWILLING JA Henckels Enfinigy electric kettles was announced on May 14 after 163 reports of loose or detached handles. Five incidents included hot material spills and at least one second-degree burn.
The recall affects two models of 1.5-liter stainless steel kettles: the Enfinigy Kettle and the Enfinigy Pro Kettle. They come in a variety of colors including: black, silver, rose, gold, and white. They will be available at HomeGoods stores nationwide and online at zwilling.com from December 2019 to February 2026 for $120 to $200.
Consumers can identify the recalled kettles by checking for the “ZWILLING” brand and model on the bottom of the unit and the power base: 53101-200, 53101-201, 53101-500, 53101-501, 53101-502, 53101-503 and 53101-504.
Customers can receive refunds for recalled merchandise. To receive a refund, consumers must first unplug, cut the power cord and upload a photo of the product to www.zwilling.com/kettle-recall. Damaged kettles should be thrown away safely. The recall website says refunds can take “up to” three weeks to complete.
About 44,000 more were sold in Canada and 48 in Mexico.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled kettles immediately due to the risk of burns.
