The nationwide recall affects some Parmesan Ranch dressing sold at Walmart after a powdered milk supplier pointed out potential contamination.
Blackstone Products is voluntarily recalling certain batches of Parmesan Ranch Dressing because a powdered milk ingredient used in the product may be linked to salmonella contamination.
The Utah-based company said the recall affects select 7.3-ounce Blackstone Parmesan Ranch dressing sold nationwide through Walmart stores and the company’s website. No illnesses have been reported.
The recall stems from another recall by the California dairy company involving powdered milk that may be contaminated with salmonella, according to the company. The milk powder is supplied to third-party manufacturers and subsequently used in flavoring products.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the infection may spread to the bloodstream and cause more serious illness.

The batch number and best before date can be found on the bottom of the product packaging.
