WASHINGTON — A crafty fox was caught stealing a bite of a hot dog.
this Royal Canadian Mounted Police said a report of “BBQ food” being stolen was received around dinner time on Monday, May 11. The incident occurred on Canada’s Crowsnest Pass, a low mountain pass on the border between Alberta and British Columbia.
According to a Facebook post, officers searched the area for a “suspect” who was “red-haired, short in stature and wearing a heavy coat.”
The agency said it found the wild fox because it was “trying to hide evidence,” and included a photo of the fox holding several hot dogs in its mouth. The RCMP said it declined “to lay charges” after the outsmarting.
One user responded on Facebook: “The fox and her babies had a great meal tonight.”
Another user commented: “At the price of hot dogs these days, this would almost be considered a steal!”
