The former “Tonight Show” host and noted car enthusiast donated the grand prize for the show’s week-long finale on May 15.
LOS ANGELES — Jay Leno arrived on “Wheel of Fortune” in a classic Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z and left behind something even more valuable.
The former “Tonight Show” host announced that he will donate a 2026 Chevrolet Corvette C8 worth approximately $70,000 as the grand prize for the show’s “Big Money Week” tournament. One lucky entrant will drive it home after Friday’s finale.
Leno made announcement Join co-host Vanna White for a pre-taped segment airing Monday.
“They know I’m a car guy,” Leno told White, explaining why he chose to give away a “cool car.”
The Corvette will be crowned the winner of the bonus round showdown on Friday, May 15, when all five winners from this week’s episode return to compete. The winner of that round will receive the car via a blind draw, guaranteeing one contestant will walk away with the key.
The competition kicked off on Monday, May 11, with Petal Reddick, an attorney from Ashburn, Virginia, solving the first tossing puzzle. Reddick amassed $11,700 in winnings from her tournament.
Leno has long been known as one of Hollywood’s most devoted car enthusiasts. The comedian and television personality is known for “Jay Leno’s Garage” Seriesshowcases rare and exotic vehicles from his personal collection, which he keeps in airline hangars.
This isn’t the first time Renault has given away a Corvette giveaway in recent months. In March, he partnered with Yaamava’ Resort and Casino to give away a red 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 to commemorate the casino’s 40th anniversary.
“Wheel of Fortune” is no stranger to automotive awards. It has awarded nearly 600 cars to contestants across 41 seasons and handed out cash and prizes totaling more than $324 million, according to the show’s 2024 figures.
The Big Money Week tournament finals will air on May 15th.
