The contract documents surfaced as the number of immigrant arrests in Washington continues to rise.
SEATTLE — Newly obtained ICE contract documents show the agency is seeking office space for more than 300 personnel at about 90 locations across the country, including Seattle and Portland, as the migrant Arrests continue to rise sharply in Washington state.
Records obtained by KING 5 include federal Request for Quotation and Statement of Work Tied to rent for work space for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
according to statement of workICE is applying for “coworking space funding” to support “more than 300 FTEs in 90 locations.” The same document states that the project aims to support 321 of the “330” people involved in the tender.
The documents list cities in more than 40 states where ICE says they may need work space, including Seattle.
The base solicitation breaks down proposed staffing by city, including:
- Seattle: seven employees
- Portland: two employees
- Houston: 22 employees
- Atlanta: 10 employees
- Colorado Springs: 12 employees
Procurement documents describe the request as “office space lease/workstations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel” through the ICE Office of Assets and Facilities Management.
The records do not clearly indicate whether staffing reflects the deployment of new personnel, temporary assignments of duties, contractors or existing employees in need of work space.
The document also states that the number of sites and workspace allocations may change “based on government needs.”
KING 5 reached out to ICE for clarification as to whether these records reflect increased staffing or expanded enforcement operations in the Pacific Northwest.
The contract documents surfaced as immigration enforcement activity in Western Washington became increasingly apparent.
Photos show ICE agents making arrests outside a Renton apartment complex Monday morning. In Bellingham, cameras captured the arrests of another group of agents linked to law enforcement and deportation operations. In Lynwood last week, video showed masked federal agents detaining a man wearing a baseball cap.
The records also come amid a sharp increase in immigration arrests across the state.
Data previously analyzed by KING 5 found that immigration arrests in Washington increased 134% year over year, from 318 arrests between January and March 2025 to 744 arrests during the same period in 2026.
