Kuala Lumpur Rahul Delhi Capitals added another major milestone to his IPL career on Friday when they took on Kolkata Knight Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.Although Rahul’s match ended in the 23rd over, the Delhi Capitals batsman entered the record books by becoming the first player in the history of IPL to score more than 1,000 runs for three different teams.
Rahul has currently scored 2548 runs for Kings XI Punjab, 1410 runs for Lucknow Supergiants and 1002 runs for Delhi Capitals. The achievement underlines his consistency across different teams and batting roles in the tournament over the years.A wicket came off the last ball of the fifth ball when Kartik Tyagi cheated Rahul with a slower delivery. Rahul tried to toss the ball inside out over covers but failed to reach the pitch and cut it high over mid on where Cameron Green took a pinpoint catch.Despite being dismissed early, Rahul became the fastest batsman for Delhi Capitals to reach the 1,000-run milestone. He achieved this feat in just 23 innings, easily surpassing the previous record jointly held by JP Duminy and Rishabh Pant (both played 35 innings).Earlier in the evening, KKR captain Ajinkya Lahani Win the roll of the dice and choose to bowl first.
