New Delhi: Tamilaga Vettri Kazagam (TVK) is reportedly tying up with all-India part Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagam (Artificial Intelligence ADMKAs the political battle over government formation intensified in Tamil Nadu on Thursday, parties reached a provincial agreement on a possible power-sharing arrangement. The development comes as 28 AIADMK legislators were shifted to a private resort in Puducherry.The legislator, who is staying at the Purankuppam resort, is a supporter of senior AIADMK leader CV Shanmugam. Their relocation has fueled speculations that various units within the AIADMK may be considering extending support to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay in the ongoing government formation exercise, ANI quoted sources as saying.Discussions are also underway on a possible power-sharing package under which Shanmugam could hold the post of deputy chief minister as well as important ministerial portfolios, they claimed. Former Tamil Nadu minister and TVK candidate KA Sengottaiyan was reportedly involved in the talks.However, the AIADMK leadership itself seems divided on the issue. Party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami did not agree to support TVK’s proposal, triggering divisions among various factions within the party.Meanwhile, leaders including CV Shanmugam and OS Manian are believed to be backing TVK in exchange for key positions in a possible coalition government. ANI quoted sources as saying that some senior leaders have advised TVK to explore legal options, including seeking help from the Supreme Court or the High Court on the government formation process. Others are said to have suggested new elections could be held if the deadlock continues.Although TVK has emerged as a major force in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, it still failed to secure a majority by a margin of five MLAs. Vijay has secured the support of five MLAs of the Congress but still needs the support of five more to pass half the bill in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
