The teacher accused of murdering and abusing his 13-month-old adopted son called on medical experts to save his child when he was rushed to Blackpool’s Victoria Hospital in a coma on Tuesday, Preston Crown Court heard. The prosecution team revealed that 37-year-old Jamie Varley took Preston David to Blackpool Victoria Hospital after he became unconscious.There are reports that evidence has been given to a jury at Preston Crown Court, according to outlets including BBC News and The Guardian. Reports show that in addition to making indecent images, the young boy was regularly beaten and sexually assaulted by Valli. The autopsy results showed that the deceased had nearly 40 injuries all over his body.Medical professionals were able to recount what happened immediately after Preston was admitted to the hospital. According to senior anesthetist Dr Wendy Aubrey, Preston did not appear to have any water in his lungs, contradicting Valli’s version of events. Valley said he left the baby in the bathtub for only a few minutes and returned to find Preston in trouble. Dr. Aubrey said the clinical expectation in these cases is water aspiration.Accident and emergency consultant Dr Anthony Kearns said he described the child’s physical condition while resuscitation was attempted. There was no moisture on Preston’s body and his diaper was intact.Witness testimony provided insight into the conduct of both defendants during the incident. According to Dr. Aubrey, one parent stood quietly while the other parent became very agitated and extremely emotional. Dr Aubrey told the court the latter’s parents had been shouting for their child’s life and made the incriminating statement in the heat of the moment. In addition, paramedic Simon Crabb said that Valli was in a hysterical state throughout the entire trip to hospital, while McGowan-Fazzakeli was less hysterical.Prosecutors charged Valli with multiple crimes, including murder, sexual assault, child abuse, grievous bodily harm and indecent images of children. The charges against McGowan-Fazakeli, on the other hand, include child abuse and sexual assault. The defendants are challenging the charges in court.The court adjourned on Tuesday amid proceedings and is due to reconvene on Wednesday morning to continue the presentation of evidence.
