It’s not racism: New Zealand woman says police came to her home because she posted ‘Welcome to the new India’ on Facebook

这不是种族主义:新西兰妇女称警察来到她家是因为她在脸书上发了“欢迎来到新印度”的帖子

A New Zealand woman said the police came to her because of her Facebook post that said “Welcome to the new India”.

New Zealand woman Renee-Rose Schwenke claims police knocked on her door and accused her of racist attitudes after she posted a photo on Facebook with the caption “Welcome to the new India”. It was a picture of herself with two Indian-looking men in the background. But the article was a mockery of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who recently signed a free trade agreement with India. The post read: “Thanks Luksin and welcome to the new India”. thisSchwenk said she did not consider the Facebook post to be racist, but it was filled with abusive comments from Indians and was eventually reported to police who were pursuing her.“The police called me regarding my ‘racist’ post. This was not a threat or incitement to violence. I was called to the police station and was told by a senior police officer that my post was unkind and ‘racist’ and not welcoming to the Indian community,” she wrote.“He had to leave us twice because he was guided by his own personal views and couldn’t handle a bit of pushback and truth, instead of acting like a professional. That’s what happens when you live under the soft tyranny of offended people. I’m not going to suppress my views to accommodate your feelings.”The woman also shared a recording of a policewoman calling her mother and searching for her through her social media posts. Police said they planned to go to her home “because some of the posts she had made online were basically considered not good by people, so they filed some complaints with the police”.“I get death threats all the time because of my views and beliefs, I’ve been called a racist, transphobic, Islamophobic, but somehow I’m wrong. The world is upside down.”Good becomes evil and evil becomes good. “Women go the extra mile.Schwenk retweeted her post and said: “If you are offended by this, I will not single you out. This is not personal and not everything is about you. Say no to the mass immigration invasion!”
