Chirayu Rana, a 35-year-old former analyst of Indian origin who now heads investment firm Bregal Sagemount, has been identified as the mastermind behind the lawsuit filed under the pseudonym John Doe. The case is against 37-year-old executive director Lorna Hajdini, a leveraged finance banker at JPMorgan Chase.
Rana’s complaint, filed Monday in New York County Supreme Court, contains explosive allegations. Al-Hajdini allegedly turned him into her “sex slave” by injecting him with Roxapro and Viagra and threatening to cut his winnings unless he complied. The documents also allege that she visited his apartment uninvited and forced him to perform sex acts.
However, the Daily Mail reported that some of the court documents were later withdrawn for “corrections” and that JPMorgan rejected all allegations.
Khaidini also denied the claims. Her lawyer said: “Lorna categorically denies these allegations. She has never engaged in any inappropriate behavior with this individual and has never even been to the location where the sexual assault is alleged to have occurred.”
An internal review by JPMorgan’s human resources and in-house legal teams found no evidence to support Rana’s allegations, the New York Post reported, citing sources. The investigation included examining emails and team phone records.
“Following an investigation, we have concluded that there is no basis for these claims,” a bank spokesman said.
They added: “While many employees cooperated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and provided core facts supporting his allegations.”
The plaintiff and defendant worked under different managers
It was also revealed that Rana and Hajdini had no superior-subordinate relationship. They are colleagues on the leveraged finance team but work under different managers. Hajdini reports to managing director Brendan Graffio, while Rana is overseen by Jon Walter. This work structure meant she had no control over Lana’s winnings.Colleagues described Rana as “socially awkward” but capable enough to stay at the bank. He is a former Rutgers University basketball player whose career spans Houlihan Lokey, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and the Carlyle Group.Hajdini is considered a high performer within JPMorgan. Friends and colleagues said she was considered a “top performer” on the leveraged finance team. Outside of work, her LinkedIn profile says she is a graduate of NYU’s Stern School of Business and a volunteer with Minds Matter, a nonprofit that supports disadvantaged students.Rana also allegedly filed an internal complaint with JPMorgan Chase in May 2025, alleging racial and gender-based harassment, and then attempted to negotiate a multimillion-dollar exit package, the New York Post reported, citing sources.
