Who is Shannon Marie Harris?

Shannon Marie Harris is a 39-year-old woman from Tyrone, Georgia.

So what exactly happened on the plane?

Fox 5 in Atlanta quoted police sources as saying Harris was on the phone while the plane was taxiing and flight attendants were giving safety instructions. The staff repeatedly asked her to hang up the phone, but she refused to put it down.

Then the situation escalated. An arresting officer said Harris became “combative,” which prompted the captain to make a U-turn and return to the gate. News.

Back at the gate, a Delta supervisor asked Harris to leave the plane, but she again refused.

After she refused to move. Delta Air Lines is asking all passengers to disembark.

As passengers began to exit the plane, Harris tried to leave with them, police said. She was arrested on trespassing-related charges at the time, according to arrest records cited by Atlanta’s Fox5.

The flight ended up taking off about an hour later than originally planned.

“The safety of our passengers and crew comes first and Delta has zero tolerance for disruptive behavior,” the airline said in a statement. “We apologize to our customers for this experience and the flight delay.”
