Trump praises NASA chief’s ‘beautiful ears’, jokes about ‘super hearing’ during White House event

President of the United States Donald Trump Made light-hearted comments about NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman during a meeting White House exchange, temporarily shifting the focus away from policy issues. Trump referred reporters’ questions to Isaacman, saying he was best placed to respond, Metro UK reported.

He then added: “You heard that question with those beautiful ears of yours? He’s got great hearing… He’s got super good hearing,” prompting a reaction from those in attendance.

Event Return to Space Achievements

The interaction took place during an event centered on the work of NASA, with Trump later praising the officials and astronauts present.

“I’m very proud of these guys. They have incredible courage,” he said, emphasizing the demands of the space mission. He also joked about his health, suggesting he would have “no trouble” physically qualifying for such a mission.

At one point, Trump asked the current president if he could go into space, and Isaacman responded: “We can start working on it, sir! If we can launch more rockets, there will be more opportunities.”

Isaacman is a billionaire entrepreneur and private astronaut who became NASA administrator in December. He commanded Inspiration 4, the first all-civilian orbital mission launched in 2021, and later led Polaris Dawn, becoming the first private citizen to conduct a spacewalk.

In his current role, he oversees NASA programs and advocates for funding decisions, including those under the Trump administration.

Isaacman’s appointment has attracted attention because of his ties to SpaceX and its founder Elon Musk. Critics have raised concerns about potential overlap between NASA’s priorities and private sector ambitions, particularly when it comes to Mars exploration.

Suggestions about the future of the International Space Station have also fueled the debate and heightened scrutiny of NASA’s long-term strategy.

Pluto debate resurfaces

Separately, Isaacman recently weighed in on the long-running debate over Pluto’s status.

“I’m very much in favor of ‘making Pluto a planet again,'” he said, suggesting discussions within the scientific community may revisit the issue.
