Trump aide Harmeet Dhillon asked in a social media post whether the women could repeat the outfits they wore to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after the shooter was arrested.
President Donald Trump’s Indian-origin aide Harmeet Dhillon attended a White House dinner in response to shootings targeting government officials and made some jokes that most social media users didn’t appreciate. The Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division asked women who attended the event if they could re-wear it at another event. “Every woman at last night’s event was low-key wondering if they could repeat this outfit in a redo or use it for another red carpet event… because does it really ‘matter?'” Dhillon posted on X via her personal account. The post drew mixed reactions, as many didn’t like Dylan’s downplaying of the situation, arguing that many shared her humor and said they thought the same thing.“I’m disappointed in this post of yours. I agree that people out there might be thinking that since everything is fine but some things don’t belong on social media, it’s better to tell your close friends. I just lost some professional respect for you,” one user wrote.Dhillon also shared her look from the event via the same account. However, she announced on her official account that while she was hiding under the desk at The Washington Post, Secret Service agents ran over her desk and chair, causing her head injuries. “The Secret Service did an outstanding job last night, sprinting through an extremely crowded room to secure the scene. Everyone was calm and followed orders to get down and get out of the way. It could have been a lot worse.” I thank law enforcement every day! “Dillon wrote, thanking the Secret Service. The gunman, Cole Thomas Allen, told police he was pursuing “executive officers” at an event at the Washington Hilton hotel where he was staying.
