A tornado emergency was declared near Enid, Oklahoma, after a tornado was spotted near Vance Air Force Base. Video from the area showed a violent tornado moving through the area, including near Enid Woodring Regional Airport. Some storm chasers reported possible tornado damage.

Declaring a tornado emergency
A tornado emergency was issued for southeast Enid after a large and damaging tornado moved through central Garfield County Thursday night.
The National Weather Service said a tornado warning was in effect until 8:45 p.m. Central Daylight Time.
At 8:21 pm CDT, a large, confirmed, damaging tornado occurred near Vance Air Force Base, moving east at 20 mph.
Authorities declared a “tornado emergency” in southeast Enid, calling conditions particularly dangerous and urging residents to take shelter immediately.
Officials warn that a deadly tornado could produce life-threatening flying debris. Mobile homes are expected to be destroyed, while homes, businesses and vehicles are at risk of severe damage or complete destruction.
Affected areas include Enid, Waukemis, Breckenridge, Fairmont and Vance Air Force Base.
Residents in warning areas are urged to seek shelter immediately in a sturdy building, preferably in an indoor room on the lowest floor, away from windows.
