According to DownDetector, most people are experiencing server connection issues, while some are logging in and game Startup problem. Usually, Tuesday is the pre-order time for Steam Server maintenance occurs, so expect some downtime.
Tuesday’s events, however, appeared to be different.

Steam server maintenance usually occurs between 1:00 and 3:00 PM Pacific Time (PT) and lasts 10-60 minutes. However, the current time is 3:20 PM Pacific Time, which means the outage occurred outside of scheduled maintenance hours.

Another person wrote: “I want to go live but steam is down ahhhhhh.” However, a recent update to DownDetector shows that the number of complaints has dropped significantly to over 2,000.
So while users may be facing a longer-than-expected outage today, things appear to be back to normal on Steam servers. It’s entirely possible that maintenance will take a little longer than usual to help players have a smooth experience.
