A freeze watch is issued when there is a possibility that: below freezing temperatureTemperatures will generally range from 29°F to 32°F over the next few days.
The weather service explained that such warnings are used as an early warning before conditions become more certain. If freezing temperatures are confirmed, the watch may upgrade to an ice warning.
“Frost and freezing conditions may kill crops and other sensitive vegetation,” the agency warned, urging residents to take precautions.

According to the meteorological department, temperatures are likely to drop further in these areas, with “minimum temperatures reaching into the 20s”.
What residents should do
Officials warned that freezing conditions could damage crops, kill sensitive plants and affect unprotected pipelines. Residents are advised to cover or bring plants indoors when possible.
With multiple areas on alert and conditions likely to worsen, the National Weather Service said additional advisories or upgrades may follow.
