Police step up patrols in parts of Tucson related to disappearances Nancy GuthrieComplaints are mounting as vloggers and amateur reporters enter private properties seeking updates on the high-profile case.
According to USA Today, Pima County Sheriff’s Department The company increased its presence in the Catalina Foothills community after residents raised concerns about trespassing. In a statement to the media, the department said it had stepped up patrols after reports of “possible trespassing by anchors and citizen journalists.”
neighbor’s complaint
There was an increased police presence at a recent homeowners association meeting, where residents pointed out disturbances caused by online content creators.
Local outlet KVOA reported that a YouTuber had been “harassing” neighbors in the area, prompting authorities to address the issue directly with the community.
Officials also stepped up patrols near Guthrie’s daughter’s home Anne Guthrie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, made similar complaints. Both locations have attracted attention as they relate to ongoing investigations.
Investigation is still ongoing
More than two months after her disappearance, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie has not been found. Law enforcement officials stressed that the case remains open, although the pace of public updates has slowed in recent weeks.
According to USA Today, Guthrie was last seen on January 31. The next morning, her family alerted her when she failed to attend a regular church meeting with friends. Authorities believe she may have been taken from her home against her will.
Annie Guthrie and Cioni were among the last people to see her the night before she disappeared, according to reports cited by Stylecaster.
Despite early investigative steps, including the release of surveillance images showing a masked suspect and the recovery of DNA evidence, no suspects have been identified. According to Stylecaster, authorities have not yet been able to match DNA or confirm a clear motive in the case.
public pressure
The case continues to draw national attention, in part because Nancy Guthrie’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie, recently returned to NBC’s “Today” show. Her family has repeatedly urged the public to share any information that could help investigators.
“We continue to believe that Tucsonans … hold the key to finding a solution,” the family said in a statement in March. “Someone knows something.”

Meanwhile, former FBI agent Jason Pack told Page Six that continued exposure and a reward of more than $1 million could increase pressure on those responsible. “Every day that goes by, the pressure builds,” he said.
For now, police are focused not only on advancing the investigation but also on maintaining order in a community destabilized by the attention the case has drawn.
