An Indian man is accused of stealing $3,500 from a Florida Burger King company where he worked as a manager.
Kris Kumar, an Indian man who worked at a Burger King restaurant in Florida, was dubbed the “Burger King Bandit” when law enforcement discovered he was behind the sudden disappearance of U.S. dollars from the restaurant’s safe. Kumar was reportedly the store’s manager but was fired after missing several days of work. Kumar, who had the key and security combination to the safe, became one of the suspects after $3,500 was stolen from the store and lost his job at the same time. The store’s new manager told police someone entered the business and used the code to open the safe. Kumar is the only one who knows the password. Investigators found that before he was fired, Kumar went to a Home Depot to make copies of restaurant keys. Although he returned his official building keys and uniform after being fired, the duplicate keys gave him access to the room and he already knew the password, which had not been changed. The theft occurred in mid-November 2025. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey nicknamed him the “Burger King Bandit” after a judge signed an arrest warrant for Kumar earlier this month.
