federal interior minister Amit Shah Monday upgraded his response to All India Trinamool Congressclaimed that West Bengal voters will “respond to bombs and bullets with votes” and brought bjp came to power in parliamentary elections.“TMC goons will no longer be able to terrorize the people of Bengal with bomb blasts. The people of Bengal will respond to bombs with votes and fear with trust,” Shah said while addressing a rally in Birbhum district.Addressing consecutive rallies at Mayureshwar and Khayrasole in Birbhum district, Shah said there were “ominous signs” of people’s decision to say “Ta Ta Bye Bye” to the chief minister Mamata Banerjee.His words were sharper, he said, “Let the people bid farewell to the Mamata government. Then the BJP will take up the task of hoisting these criminal syndicates and money-cut promoters and make them come right”, alleging deep-rooted corruption and “mafia rule” under the TMC rule.He also issued a warning before the polls, saying “I advise TMC goons to stay home on April 23…otherwise we will pick them up one by one on May 4 and throw them in jail” while claiming that the BJP workers faced chronic violence under the current regime.Shah accused the state government of failing to curb infiltration and promised strict action, including deporting illegal immigrants and completing the border fence with Bangladesh within 45 days of forming the government. He also reiterated the BJP’s plan to implement a Uniform Civil Code in the state.Targeting the ruling party’s governance, Shah alleged large-scale corruption in various departments, including recruitment scams, ration distribution irregularities and misuse of welfare funds, and said he would ask those responsible to “refund every penny”.He also criticized Banerjee on the issue of women’s safety and promised to improve law and order and said the BJP government will ensure a safer environment for women across the state.Highlighting the welfare promises, Shah said the BJP government will implement measures including providing financial support to women and youth, improving farmers’ welfare, expanding health care coverage and faster implementation of central schemes under the “dual-engine” management.Voting in West Bengal will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting scheduled for May 4.
