Tushara filed the lawsuit after the SLC refused to issue Thushara the no-objection certificate (NOC) required for players to participate in overseas leagues.
Now, in a surprising move, Tushara has apologized to the board via email, saying he had no intention of “inconveniencing the governing body.” He clarified that he was only “seeking fairness and justice” because he felt he had been treated unfairly.

The problem started when the SLC rejected Suchhara’s NOC request, reportedly due to a failure in the physical fitness test. In response, the 31-year-old approached the court and requested intervention so that he can play in the 2026 IPL, where he will represent the Royal Challengers Bangalore.However, the SLC opposed his plea in court and said it would challenge it. The court accepted the committee’s request and the next hearing is scheduled for April 23.Tushara has since appeared to be reconsidering his legal action and may withdraw the case entirely. His apology signaled a softer stance and sought to ease tensions with the board.Tushara has played 30 T20 matches for the national team since 2022 and has featured in previous IPL seasons. While his immediate participation in IPL 2026 remains uncertain, the situation seems to be heading towards resolution rather than further conflict.
