Sunrisers Hyderabad will be missing Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards for the entire IPL 2026 season. The 25-year-old New South Wales cricketer secured his maiden IPL deal for Rs 3 crore in this year’s auction but was ruled out due to injury, Cricbuzz reported on Thursday. The exact nature of the injury has not been disclosed.Last year, Edwards earned an IPL contract after his outstanding performance in Australia A’s three-match ODI series against India A. He made his Australia T20I debut on 29 January 2026 against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore under captain Travis Head, scoring 5 runs from 6 balls in the 8th over and finishing with 0 for 25 in two overs.Australia pacer Nathan Ellis and England all-rounder Sam Curran I will miss this season too. Ellis’ absence is a major blow for Chennai Super Kings, who have been relying on him as a key bowler after parting ways with Sri Lanka pacer Mathisha Patialana. Meanwhile, the loss of Curran, who joined the Jaipur-based franchise last year in a trade deal involving Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson, will be felt by Rajasthan Royals. Ellis is out with a hamstring injury, while Curran is out with a groin problem.and Pat Cummins Ishan Kishan, who is still recovering from a back injury, will lead Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match with Abhishek Sharma as his deputy. SRH will begin their IPL 2026 season against defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 28 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Their second match is away against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 2 before returning home to face Lucknow Supergiants on April 5.
