A tornado warning was issued for Dauphin County on Wednesday after a rotating thunderstorm was spotted near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Photos and videos of the storm quickly appeared on social media as it moved through the region.

The National Weather Service in State College, Pa., has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Dauphin, northeast Lancaster and Lebanon counties until 7 p.m. ET Wednesday.
The latest update says a severe thunderstorm is over Pennsylvania National Racecourse at 6:26 p.m., moving east at 45 mph
Radar showed a severe storm capable of producing wind gusts of 60 mph and quarter-sized hail. Dangerous conditions could result in hail causing damage to vehicles, while strong winds could also cause downed tree limbs and minor damage to buildings.
Affected locations include:
Lebanon, Hershey, Colonial Park, Progress, Palmyra, Ringerstown, Annville, Cornwall, Myerstown, Paxton, Skyline View and Denver.
“Radar indicates rotation during this severe thunderstorm. While a tornado is unlikely to occur immediately, rapid development of tornadoes is possible during severe thunderstorms,” the National Weather Service alert said.
This includes the following interstate highways:
- Pennsylvania Turnpike from mile marker 276 to mile marker 285.
- Interstate 78, from mile markers 0 to 8.
- Interstate 81, from mile markers 71 to 91.
- Interstate 83 near mile marker 49.

Tornado kills 2 in northwest Indiana
A tornado killed at least two people in northwest Indiana, authorities said Wednesday.
The Newton County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Edward L. Kozlowski, 89, and his wife, Arlene Kozlowski, 84, died when a tornado struck their home. lake villageIndiana. Officials said the couple appeared to have died from blunt force trauma and autopsies were scheduled for Friday.
“They were great, really great,” son-in-law Steve Rehfeldt told CBS News in Chicago. “You know, the tough old guy and the sweet old lady.”
