According to an affidavit submitted by the FBI, former CIA officer David Rush was involved in corruption between 2009 and May 2026. However, he likely did not join the CIA in 2009.

Charges against David Rush

David Rush’s allegations are detailed in an affidavit filed by an attorney. FBI Detectives are investigating the case. Rush allegedly stole and hid “large amounts of foreign currency and tens of millions of dollars in gold bars” at his home that he “used for work-related expenses.” He reportedly made the purchases between November 2025 and March 2026.

The FBI has been investigating him, but previous searches have yielded no breakthroughs. However, Rush was in trouble when the FBI raided his home on May 18 and seized 300 gold bars worth $40 million, 34 luxury watches and about $2 million in cash. An affidavit against him was filed in a Virginia court on May 20.

He was charged with criminal theft of public funds.
