New Delhi: Mukul Choudhary & Avish Khan Lucknow Supergiants rewrote the record books with a dramatic wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling last-ball match at Eden Gardens on Thursday. The defining moment of the match was the unbeaten 54-run partnership between Mukul and Avesh for the eighth wicket – now the highest position for an eighth wicket or less in a successful IPL chase. The dramatic stand, which came off just 24 balls, flipped the script and exposed KKR’s struggles at the death.Despite Ayush Badoni’s 54, LSG were chasing 182 runs at 128/7 in the 16th over. But Mukul, playing just his third IPL match, will be remembered for years to come with his superb comeback.
Mukul Choudhary’s six lightning strikes enter record
Mukul’s innings was as much about milestones as it was about impact. He hit seven sixes – the most by an LSG batsman batting at No. 7 or below. The record also equals the record for most sixes at that position by any batsman in an IPL chase, matching Dwayne Bravo’s feat in 2018 when Chennai Super Kings faced Mumbai Indians. As the pressure mounted, Mukul found a capable ally in Avish and together they wrote history from a winning stand. The partnership not only resulted in a seemingly impossible victory but also highlighted LSG’s growing dominance over KKR. It was LSG’s fifth win in seven head-to-head meetings with KKR, including their third win in four attempts at the Eden Gardens. Also read: Sanjiv Goenka’s emotional hug for Mukul Choudhary goes viral after LSG win — WatchKKR shaken by deaths againFor Cameron Green In the penultimate over, Mukul hit two sixes and a four to turn the momentum around.
