Gill appeared on The Benny Show, hosted by YouTuber Benny Johnson, and spoke about the growing immigrant population in areas like Frisco, Texas. He blamed illegal and legal immigration through the H-1B visa system, citing 7-Eleven workers from India as examples of fraudsters. He also claimed that people opened fake businesses in the country and began chain migration once they settled down. “This has to end at some point and I think it’s now,” he added.His comments stemmed from a video taken at a 7-Eleven in Texas and posted by controversial YouTuber Tyler Oliveira. In the video, an Indian employee in the store mentioned that he came to India on an H-1B visa and was originally from Andhra Pradesh, India. The video was later shared by AF Post on“Gill, who represents Texas’ 26th Congressional District, reacted to the video by calling for a ban on H-1B visas, writing: “H-1B is a scam and should be abolished.”As many social media users pointed out, the irony is that Gill herself is married to an Indian. His wife, Danielle D’Souza, is the daughter of Trump ally Dinesh D’Souza, who was born in Mumbai and immigrated to the United States in 1978.
