Some of the most powerful moments at the 2026 Era Internet Half Marathon came not from the fastest finishers, but from those who redefined what it means to participate. Disabled runners competed in different categories and brought stories of determination, discipline and quiet resilience that left a lasting impact on everyone in attendance.

Stories that stand out

Among them, national-level para-athlete Neeraj Kumar made his debut in the 2K running event, demonstrating how athletes can successfully transition across sports formats. Ashok Kumar Sharma exemplified discipline and self-reliance by leveraging his strong collegiate athletic background to return to competitive running while independently managing all aspects of his competition. Rakhee Mittal completed the 2K race walk with solid endurance, highlighting consistency and a deep-rooted commitment to fitness.The diversity of participation was equally evident in the longer race categories such as 5km and 10km. Visually impaired runner Sanjay Sondhi demonstrated coordination and trust by completing the 5km race with the help of a paramedic. Below-knee amputee Amit Kumar exemplifies adaptability and determination by running on prosthetic legs. Sanchit Goyal, who is hearing-impaired, guided the race through focus and rhythm rather than sound, always maintaining a steady pace. In the 10K category, 18-year-old Madhav Madan completed the run with his family, emphasizing not only individual resilience but also the important role of support systems.
