A shooting involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents occurred in Stanislaus County, California, on Tuesday morning. The incident forced officials to close multiple entrance and exit ramps on Interstate 5, causing traffic congestion in the area.
Local law enforcement was not involved in the incident, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. After the shooting, a suspect was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Blockades, centered around Interstate 5 and Sperry Avenue near Patterson, are expected to remain closed throughout the day, with authorities warning commuters could expect significant delays.
