Marjorie Taylor Greene reveals break with Trump, ‘said release will hurt people’
“This is what President Trump is posting on Easter morning. Every professing Christian in his administration needs to get on their knees and ask God for forgiveness, stop worshiping the president and intervene in Trump’s insanity. I know all of you and him, he has gone crazy and all of you are complicit,” MTG wrote in her 276-word post. “I’m not defending Iran, but let’s be honest about it all. The straits are closed because the United States and Israel are waging an unprovoked war against Iran, based on the same nuclear lie they have been telling for decades, that Iran will develop nuclear weapons at any time. You know who has nuclear weapons? Israel. They are perfectly capable of defending themselves without the United States having to fight a war, kill innocent people and children, and pay the price,” she wrote. “Trump’s threats to bomb power plants and bridges hurt the people of Iran who Trump claims he wants to liberate. At Easter, and throughout all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the Son of God died and rose from the grave so that all our sins could be forgiven once for all. Jesus commands us to love one another and forgive one another. Even our enemies.”“Our president is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians. Christians in government should pursue peace. Urge the president to make peace. Don’t escalate wars that harm people. This is not what we promised the American people when they overwhelmingly vote in 2024, and I know that, and I am here more than most. This will not make America great again, it is evil,” the post added. A U.S. pilot was rescued from Iranian soil late Saturday after being shot down by an F-15 just days earlier, Trump announced shortly after midnight on Sunday morning. The crew member has been missing since Friday.
