“The drums are beating again in Washington,” Charlie said in April 2025, about two months before he was murdered.
“The warmongers fear this is their last chance to get the white whale they have been chasing for three decades, a full-scale regime change war against Iran,” Charlie wrote. “A new Middle East war would be a catastrophic mistake. Our military reserves are depleted by three years of supporting Ukraine. Our efforts to reshore manufacturing are just beginning and will take years to bear fruit. War will worsen our already massive deficits and national debt. Iran is bigger than Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan combined. War is not easy and could easily become a disaster.”

Charlie then praised Donald Trumpwrote, “Thanks to President Trump’s restraint during his first term, the United States has a golden opportunity to extricate itself from the Middle East quagmire for good. We should not pass up this opportunity lest some outdated Washington make it difficult for young Americans to die again.”
Charlie, 31, was allegedly shot and killed by Tyler Robinson on September 10 while attending a campus event in Utah. According to a statement from Utah Valley University (UVU), the shooting occurred around 12:20 pm local time during a student Q&A event at UVU in Orem.
On February 28, the United States used a variety of weapons against Iranian targets, including suicide drones, Tomahawk cruise missiles, and stealth fighter jets. It also used low-cost, one-way attack drones modeled on Iranian designs for the first time in combat.
