‘Those blue states’: Trump gives Vance new ‘fraud czar’ role to probe Democratic-run districts

U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday gave Vice President Vance a new position as the new “fraud czar” and said that in his new position, the vice president will focus on investigating fraud in Democratic-run states.

While Trump said in a Truth Society post about Vance’s new role that he would focus on fraud everywhere, it also clarified that his primary focus would be “blue states,” a term used for areas that vote primarily Democratic.

‘Everywhere,’ but mostly in those blue states,” Trump said in an article published in Truth Social, specifically mentioning California, Illinois, Minnesota, Maine and New York.

Trump said “the raids have begun” in Los Angeles, where federal prosecutors announced Thursday that eight people had been charged in separate cases for trying to defraud the health care system of $50 million.

Prosecutors said the cases were pursued in coordination with the Vance Fraud Elimination Task Force.

Vance promoted the arrests in a social media post Thursday, saying “the task force will not waste any time fighting fraud.”

Trump signed an executive order last month establishing a national task force, led by Vance, aimed at proving the president’s claims that federal funds intended for social welfare programs have been stolen from some states.

J.D. Vance’s stance on war with Iran

J.D. Vance has recently become tougher on the US-Iran war following initial reported skepticism, with the US vice president threatening to increase pressure on Iranian infrastructure if a deal to end the conflict is not reached soon.

When the war began, Politico reported that Vance was skeptical of the conflict, but he clarified that he sided with Trump once it began.

Vance insisted that despite his past concerns about foreign interference, he trusted President Trump’s handling of the situation.
