New Delhi: For Badruddin Siddiqui, Wednesday night was special. He has been training his two wards since they were teenagers while they were bowling for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.Shami bowled his first ball, bowling KL Rahul. Mohsin hit a wicket-maiden, dismissing Nitish Rana and leaving his Uttar Pradesh teammate Sameer Rizvi in search of runs. Mohsin conceded six runs in his first three overs, while Rizvi managed just two runs from the ten balls he faced. Tristan Stubbs scored four runs from six balls against the left-arm fast over.
Mohsin was fascinated by Rizvi and Stubbs, but for Badruddin it was not his bowling that impressed him the most. On the fifth ball of the 12th hole, the 27-year-old went all out to save two points from the third man. Mohsin’s efforts forced Badruddin to jump from the sofa.“Now the gift is over (He is not scared anymore),” Badruddin told TimesofIndia.com.“If a fast bowler whose career has been affected by injuries is diving on the pitch, it only means one thing. He is perfectly fit,” he explained.
It’s his fault. He is a gifted athlete. But today’s youth are obsessed with gyms and posting videos on social media.

After bursting onto the scene in IPL 2022, where he took 14 wickets in 10 games with an economy of 5.96, he was almost called up by India, but suffered a serious shoulder injury and did not play any cricket for a whole year. He was unable to play the first half of IPL 2023 but made a brilliant comeback to save 11 runs in the last match against Mumbai Indians.Over the past four years, he has suffered career-threatening shoulder and groin injuries, the most serious of which was a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee while playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on December 31.

“Injuries become a big part of any fast bowler’s life. But Mohsin was a bit unlucky,” Badruddin said.Fortunately, during these frustrating years, he Mohammad Shami On his side. Mohsin stayed at Shami’s farmhouse in Ali Nagar.“Shami has helped him a lot from the beginning. During the lockdown, he started living and training with Shami in his farmhouse. Everyone can see the results in IPL 2022,” Badruddin said.
Fast bowlers should be trained on the ground. If you want to bowl at 140 km/h, you have to grind on the pitch. Gym se bowling improve nahi hoti (your bowling won’t improve in the gym)

Badruddin blamed Mohsin’s lifestyle for his downfall and injuries.“It’s his fault. He was a gifted athlete. But young people today are obsessed with the gym and posting videos on social media,” he said.Badruddin shared a conversation between Shami and Mohsin after the IPL match last year.

“We were having tea at Shami’s farmhouse and Mohsin had just come out of the gym. I remembered Shami’s words,”Mohsin Miyaan, you can strengthen your body by going to the gym instead of bowling.‘(The gym builds your body, not your bowling ball),” Badruddin said with a laugh.Mohsin was shocked by Shami’s harsh words. “His jaw dropped,” Badruddin recalled.“A fast bowler should work on the ground. If you want to bowl at 140km/h, you have to grind on the pitch. Gym bowling improves nahi hoti (your bowling won’t improve in the gym),” he said.Mohsin is six feet three inches tall and Badruddin feels that his height can rush the batsmen better than Shami.
Mohsin miyaan, gym se body ban jayegi, bowling nahi (Gym builds your body, not your bowling ball).
Mohammad Shami to Mohsin Khan
“Moshin is tall and his ball creeps up to the batsmen faster than Shami. You tell me how many left-arm fast players can swing the ball both ways at 140 kmph and generate such a steep bounce. There is no one in India at the moment,” he praised his ward. What Mosin has done over the past twelve months is go back to basics. He ran, bowled and trained tirelessly, with Shami shouting from behind: “Should India fight or not? (Do you want to play for India). ““In the past few months, he has also realized the importance of physical fitness. He is already 27 years old and can play for another five to six years at most, but if his physical fitness improves, he can extend it for another two years,” he said.

In the past few months, Mohsin has not only changed his lifestyle under Shami but also worked hard on his bowling.“He worked on his wrist position. He added a few more steps to his run-up. It helped him get more rhythm,” he said.

What is your impression of Mosin’s performance in recent games?
But for Badruddin, the most satisfying part of Mohsin’s return to competitive cricket after almost two years remains his fielding.“To this day we haven’t gotten too far into my life. (He had never dived in his life). The good news is he’s not scared anymore,” he said.
