PSL controversy! 'The culprit is me, not Shaheen' - Raza breaks silence on security breach
Shaheen Afridi and Sikandar Raza charged with security breach for ‘forcibly escorting’ 4 tourists into hotel room

New controversies arise pakistan super league As an all-rounder for Lahore Qalandars Sikandar Raza Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been charged with violating hotel security protocols after four “unauthorized” visitors reportedly entered the team’s hotel room. According to a letter sent by the Punjab Police PSL Chief executive Salman Naseer, Raza and Afridi allegedly “forcibly escorted” visitors despite the refusal of security services. However, Raza strongly refuted the accusations. He clarified that the four visitors were his long-term friends and family members and that Afridi was only helping at his request. “Shaheen did not force anyone,” Raza told ESPNCricinfo. “My friends and family came and at my request Shaheen helped them [come up to my room]. If these are standard operating procedures, I don’t know, and to some extent, Shaheen doesn’t either. The culprit is me, not Shaheen. He denied my request because those were my close family and friends; I didn’t want to see them in the business center. We sat upstairs for 40 minutes. “ Raza also emphasized a personal background, noting that he has known these tourists for 19 years and rarely sees his family and children, who are also part of the group. “Please don’t forget that my family and relatives live here and I don’t see them all year long,” he said. He reiterated that Afridi was only following his instructions and did not act independently. The police letter stated that permission for visitors was sought from the PCB Security Manager and Qalandars Liaison Officer, but these requests were rejected. The letter suggested the refusal was ignored and the visitor stayed in the room for three hours, contradicting Raza’s account of the 40-minute meeting. Sources within Lahore Qalandars largely confirmed the incident but denied that any forced entry had occurred. PCB media head Umar Farooq confirmed that the board was aware of the incident and was in communication with the PSL. The police have urged the Public Security Bureau to investigate the matter thoroughly to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
