New Delhi: An Indian national was killed in an attack on a power and desalination plant in Kuwait, taking the number of Indians killed in the ongoing war in West Asia to eight.“The Embassy of India in Kuwait expresses condolences over the tragic death of an Indian national following yesterday’s attack on a desalination facility in Kuwait. The Indian Embassy is coordinating with the Kuwaiti authorities to provide all possible support and assistance. “The Indian Embassy stated on the 1st that it confirmed the death of the first Indian in Kuwait during the conflict.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said a service building at one of the country’s electricity and water distillation plants was damaged in the attack, the state-run Kuwait News Agency reported. Officials called it a “brutal attack.” The factory where the attack occurred has not yet been identified.Ministry spokesperson Fatima Jakhar Hayat said the strike resulted in the death of an Indian worker, Gulf News reported.
