A brush fire broke out on the 100 block of River Rock Court in Santee City, San Diego County. californiaSunday afternoon. Smoke from the fire was visible as far away as Main Street in El Cajon.
The San Diego County Fire Department is responding to the incident as smoke is visible throughout the county. Video of the fire appeared on social media.

Incident Command has requested a Type 1 Engine Strike Team (five engines) and three additional engines have responded. The Santee Fire Department was reportedly spraying water from above in an attempt to control the fire.
So far, there have been no reports of threats to buildings. As of this writing, no evacuation alert has been issued.
San Diego County Sheriff releases latest news
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department released an update on the fire. They warned residents of increased law enforcement activity in the area, and fire department officials and deputy sheriffs responded.
“If you live in Santee, please be aware of increased law enforcement and fire activity. A fire is burning in the creek bed near the 100 block of Park Avenue downtown. Please avoid the area until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding,” the update said.
