Looking back on the interview, Kotb added: “I’m fine. There’s a desperation in Savannah, and a callousness. I mean, she wants someone, whoever that person is, to see something and say something, and as you’ll see over the next few days, she talks about a lot of things. She talks about the investigation, she talks about her faith, she talks about how she’s getting through this, and that’s just part of it.”

The investigation enters a critical stage

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on January 31, when she was transported to her home in Tucson, Arizona. When she failed to attend a scheduled church service the next day, authorities launched a search.

Investigators believe she was abducted overnight, with surveillance video showing a masked man at her front door. Officials also said they may know a motive behind the case, but details have not been disclosed.

Family calls for renewed attention

In a recent public statement, Guthrie and her siblings asked the Tucson community for help.

“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love from our neighbors, friends and people in Tucson. We are all a family now. We continue to believe that the Tucson and southern Arizona communities hold the key to solving this case. Someone knows something,” the family said.

“Members of this community may have important information that they are not even aware of. We want people to search their memories, especially around key times such as January 31, the early morning hours of February 1, and the late night of January 11,” the statement continued.

“We urgently ask this community to return attention to our mother’s case – please review camera footage, diary notes, text messages, observations or conversations that may be significant in retrospect. No detail is too small. That may be the key.”

‘We can’t calm down’

“We miss our mom with every breath we take, and we cannot rest until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is simply to find her and bring her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life. But we cannot do that until she is taken to her final resting place. Thank you for your continued prayers.”

Guthrie prepares to return to present day

Despite her personal crisis, Guthrie said she plans to return to “Today.”

“I don’t know how to come back, but I also don’t know how to not come back,” she said during a recent visit to the set. “You’re my family. And besides, I want to try it.”
