made an emotional appearance on the March 26 show todaySavannah strongly refutes theories circulating online that her sister Annie Guthrie, brother-in-law Tomasso Cioni or brother Camron Guthrie played any role in her mother’s kidnapping.
“It’s unbearable and it’s going to cause more and more pain,” she told co-host Hoda Kotb.
“There are no words. I don’t understand, I will never understand. No one took better care of my mom than my sister and brother-in-law. No one protected my mom better than my brother,” she added.
She also talked about how much her mother meant to the entire family. “We love her and she is our light,” she said. “She’s our matriarch. She’s everything we have.”

Authorities say FBI search of Anne’s home was routine
The search of Anne’s home on February 7th sparked much speculation. However, authorities later said the search was “part of the normal course” of the investigation. This is a routine step in missing persons cases and does not indicate she did anything wrong.
Savannah said doorbell camera footage outside her mother Nancy’s home helped keep her family out of the public eye. The FBI said video showed a man carrying a black backpack standing outside the house when Nancy disappeared.
“I’m happy and grateful to the investigators and technology companies who were able to find this video, and I hope — at least those with good intentions and compassion — to stop the irresponsible and cruel speculation that has begun to spread,” Savannah said in an interview.
However, seeing the video was also very painful for her. Savannah said the images were deeply disturbing and made her think about what her mother might have gone through.
“It was absolutely terrifying,” she reflects. “It was horrible, I couldn’t imagine the man she saw standing next to her bed. I couldn’t, it was too much.”
However, the investigation is ongoing, no suspects have been publicly identified, and the Guthrie family is still waiting for answers.
