The BCCI has banned IPL teams from holding practice matches on IPL 2026 match days, according to a note sent to team managers. Teams will be assigned two nets in the practice area and a side gate in the main concourse to allow for range shots during practice. At the Wankhede Stadium, if two teams train at the same time, both sides will take two wickets.List of Do’s and Don’ts
– Open networks are not allowed.– If one team ends training early, the other team cannot use its allocated wicket. – Fitness tests are not allowed in the main square on match days.– On training days, players must travel to the stadium on team buses, although teams may be split into two groups. Players must travel separately from their families, while family and friends can travel in separate vehicles and watch from the hospitality area.Match day rules include– Although batting nets are provided, players are asked not to hit the ball onto the LED board.– Players and support staff are not allowed to sit in front of the LED board. Assigned seats on the bench will be marked with towels and water bottles.– Players must wear orange and purple hats; if not, they should wear them for at least the first two games so broadcasters can capture them.– Sleeveless jerseys and flip-flops are prohibited during post-match speeches. A warning will be given for the first violation; financial penalties will be imposed for subsequent violations.
