According to a post in Turbo Traveler, the passenger, identified only as Brady, said, “I’m OK, but I feel terrible for the lives lost. Please keep them in your prayers.”

Brady also shared photos of the damaged plane.

“I was on this flight and we are still on the tarmac being inspected. I wanted to share these images in case it helps anyone who is investigating the crash or needs more information,” he said.

There has been no official confirmation that the accident may have caused any deaths.

What we know about the accident

Queens Airport’s Runway 4 was packed with emergency vehicles after a regional plane taking off from Montreal crashed into a rescue truck, according to video captured by the Port Authority Police Department, the FDNY and Citizen App. The accident happened just before 11:40 p.m.

Pictures showed the front of the commuter plane being smashed and careening in the air. The Bombardier CRJ-900 jet was carrying 72 passengers and four crew members, according to Jazz Air, which operates the Air Canada Express flight. Their status is currently being assessed.
