“I haven’t had much interaction with Gary Kirsten, so it would be nice if those who coordinate matters with him and deal with him on a regular basis could respond in detail to his allegations,” Naqvi told reporters.Kirsten’s tenure as Pakistan head coach lasted just six months. The South African great was appointed on a two-year contract in April 2024 but resigned in October 2024.What is Kirsten’s claim? In an interview with talkSPORT, Kirsten spoke about the challenges he faced during his time in the Pakistan team.“What surprised me the most was the level of disruption. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this level of disruption before. Does it surprise me? I don’t know, but it’s significant,” Kirsten told talkSPORT Cricket.Kirsten explained that such an environment makes it difficult for coaches to execute plans.“It’s difficult for coaches to develop a way of working with players when there’s constant noise coming from the outside. It’s tough, the constant noise from the outside and a lot of punishment for poor performance and things like that,” he added.“As a coach, you’re the easiest target when the team is not doing well, so let’s fire the coach, or let’s put restrictions on the coach, because that’s the easiest thing to do when the team is doing well, but that’s counterproductive in my opinion,” Kirsten said.
