Poliyev said he agreed to speak on the podcast about U.S. tariffs on Canada. “We are very proud of Canadians, so we will never become the 51st state,” Poliyev said. “I just hope he (Trump) stops this so we can get back to talking about what we can do as two different countries that are actually friends.” Rogan agreed with Poliev, saying the Canadian joke was a “crazy thing.” Poliyev said U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods are making life more expensive for Americans. “We should remove tariffs because if these tariffs are removed, we can do a lot together as neighbors and partners,” Poliyev said.The Canadian opposition leader hinted at a friendly relationship with Carney and said he was in touch with him when he visited the United States this week. “Even when I visit here, I text him and tell him what’s going on and try to support him in his work because we all want to be good for Canada,” Poliyev said.He also declined to criticize Carney and said he would not criticize him on foreign soil. Rogan referred to Fidel Castro as “Justin’s father” during the conversation, but Pliyev declined and said Justin Trudeau’s father was another Pierre – Pierre Trudeau. On heated questions about a potential referendum in Alberta and the province’s desire to separate from Canada, Poliyev said that would never happen.
