Delhi Capitals posted an emotional video on social media to mark Shaw’s return, which was titled “Our boy is home.”In the video, Shaw reflects on his connection to the team and stadium:“You don’t forget a place like Kotla. Not the noise. Not the silence. Not everything it brings you. Some stories don’t end. They come back. Derry, your children come home.”

Shaw’s journey with Delhi Capitals

Shaw was initially signed by Delhi Capitals for Rs 12 crore after India won the 2018 U-19 World Cup, where he captained the team. In seven seasons, he played 79 games and scored 1,892 runs at an average of 23.5, including 14 half-centuries. Delhi Capitals finished fifth last season with seven wins from 14 games and narrowly missed out on a playoff spot.
