U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to send ICE agents to airports if congressional Democrats don’t immediately agree to fund airport security.In an article published in Truth Social, Trump lashed out at immigrants from Somalia, saying they were entering the once-great state of Minnesota after being approved by a corrupt governor, attorney general and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.“If radical left Democrats don’t immediately sign a deal to make our country, and especially our airports, free and safe again, I will move our talented, patriotic ICE agents to the airports where they will conduct security like never before, including the immediate arrest of all illegal immigrants entering our country, especially those from Somalia who have been utterly destroyed with the approval of a corrupt governor, attorney general, and congresswoman, Ilhan Omar, the once great state of Minnesota, I look forward to seeing ICE Make a difference at our airports and make America great again!” Trump said. Trump’s threat came after a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security failed to advance in the Senate on Friday. Democrats have refused to provide the support needed to push the funding measure to final passage. Democrats are asking federal agents to change immigration enforcement practices after the shooting deaths of Alex Pretty and Renee Goode in Minneapolis.The House Homeland Security Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on Wednesday to examine the impact of the partial shutdown on the Transportation Security Administration, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies within the Department of Homeland Security.
