Joseph Duggar has been taken into custody after his arrest on child abuse-related charges, prompting a widespread search of his current location and prison conditions.
According to “People” magazine, 31-year-old Duggar is currently being held in the Washington County Jail in Arkansas. He was booked into the jail at 3:59 pm local time on March 18. He remains in custody awaiting extradition to Bay County, Florida, where he will face charges, Newsweek reported.
Arrest and case details
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced that Dugger was charged with indecent assault on a victim under the age of 12 and related conduct, People reported.
The case stems from an alleged incident in 2020 involving a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in Panama City Beach. Authorities further allege that Duggar admitted to the act after a confrontation with the victim’s father and detectives.
