Now, the brilliant batsman wants to scale another major milestone.Speaking at the BCCI Naman Awards in New Delhi, Sooryavanshi made it clear which record he most wants to break. When asked to choose between hitting six sixes in a match, hitting the fastest hundred in the IPL or surpassing Gayle’s famous 175, the youngster didn’t hesitate.“To break the record of 175 games,” he said.Gayle’s stunning 175 for RCB against Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013 remains the highest individual score in the league’s history and in all T20 cricket more than a decade later.However, Sooryavanshi’s main focus remains on helping Rajasthan Royals win their second IPL title.“The goal this IPL season is to win a trophy for the team. It is a very important thing. I want to do well and my performance will help the entire team,” he said. “My goal is to contribute to RR’s victory and win trophies for the team.”Sooryavanshi was drafted by the Royals in 2024 at just 13 years old, and he credits the team for supporting his talent early on.“RR had been following me during my domestic and U-19 matches when I made my domestic debut. Their scouting team has been following me for a long time. My trials went well and I felt I could go to RR,” he said.The youngster also acknowledged the influence that former India great Rahul Dravid and senior teammates had on him during his early days in the IPL.“Rahul sir was there, so I learned a lot from him. There are a lot of senior players in the team and it was a great learning experience,” Sooryavanshi added.
