Authorities in Dubai closed four major roads, including Airport Road and Casablanca Street, after a drone hit a fuel storage tank near Dubai International Airport (DXB) early on Monday, sparking a fire and briefly disrupting flights at one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. local time when a drone strike caused a fire and thick smoke near the airport’s refueling facility. Emergency teams from Dubai Civil Defense rushed to the scene and successfully brought the fire under control within hours. Officials confirmed there were no reports of injuries.Flight operations at Dubai International Airport were temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure, with many aircraft circling or being diverted to nearby airports. Some flights were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport, while others returned to their original departure points.The Dubai Media Office said the closure was necessary to ensure the safety of passengers and staff while emergency teams responded to the fire.
